Rihanna Streaks To A Fourth Week Atop Hot 100
Rihanna's "Rude Boy" rolls to a seventh week as the Airplay Gainer on the Billboard Hot 100 -- the longest streak in almost three years -- as it holds at No. 1 for a fourth frame. "Rude" is the first track to post such a lengthy run as the Airplay Gainer since "Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin')" by T-Pain featuring Yung Joc did so for seven weeks in April/May of 2007.
In one of the most stable weeks so far this year, the top eight titles on the Hot 100 remain locked in place, with all but the Black Eyed Peas' "Imma Be" at No. 7 earning bullets signifying point gains. "Nothin' On Me" from B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars holds the runner-up slot for a third week and Train stays stuck at No. 3 with "Hey, Soul Sister."
Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now," "Telephone" by Lady Gaga featuring Beyonce and "Break Your Heart" by Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris occupy the No. 4 to No. 6 slots, respectively. At No. 8 is Justin Bieber's "Baby."
Jason Derulo returns to the top 10 with an 11-9 jump for "In My Head." The song last appeared in the upper tier three weeks ago. Closing out the top 10 is Young Money featuring Lloyd with "BedRock" (9-10).
Taking the Digital Gainer trophy for a second week is Miley Cyrus' "When I Look At You" (25-16), which posts a 44% download spike, also moving 12-10 on Digital Songs. No doubt a strong opening week box office gross (25.4 million in the U.S. and Canada) for Cyrus's picture "The Last Song," in which the song is featured, contributed to the uptick.
Usher, the man with the No. 1 album in the land posts the third-best Hot 100 debut of his career as "OMG," featuring will.i.am, opens at No. 14. His two prior best debuts were with his first two charting singles, "Nice & Slow" (No. 9) and "My Way" (No. 13) in 1998. "OMG" also launches at No. 7 on Digital Songs with 130,000 downloads.
Diddy-Dirty Money, the trio led by the ubiquitous entertainer/entrepreneur debuts on the Hot 100 at No. 34 with "Hello Good Morning." A performance of the song by the act on the March 31 "American Idol" results show was timed with the track's digital release one day earlier, propelling the title to a high debut on this list and at No. 17 on Digital Songs (81,000).
Lady Gaga makes the list with a fourth track from "The Fame Monster" as her latest radio single "Alejandro" arrives at No. 72. The title also debuts on Pop Songs at No. 35, while digital downloads more than double to 24,000 (No. 71 on Digital Songs).
Rounding out the debuts are new titles from Travis McCoy featuring Bruno Mars (No. 92), the garment liberated Erykah Badu (No. 95) and Clay Walker (No. 99).
